Welcome to the Omega Chi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® website. Our sorority was founded on January 15, 1908, by nine visionary women led by Ethel Hedgeman (Lyle) on the campus of Howard University in Washington, D.C. as the first Greek-letter organization for African American college-educated women. From that humble beginning, the Sorority has grown to 355,000+ college-educated members with more than 1,037 chapters in 12 countries including the United States, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Dubai, Germany, Japan, Liberia, Nigeria, South Korea, South Africa, and the U.S. Virgin Islands under the dynamic leadership of our International President and CEO Danette Anthony Reed. Omega Chi Omega will work with enthusiasm and unrivaled passion, joining hands with other chapters and community partners as we implement initiatives under our theme, Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood, to elevate our community and enhance our efforts to be of service to all mankind.
